HEAR I LOVE YOU FOREVER

One day when Jaya was at school playing with her friends, she couldn’t hear them as well as they could hear her. When she got on the bus to come home that day, she told the bus driver she could not hear out of her left ear. The bus driver told Jaya’s mom when they arrived home at the afterschool drop-off.

Jaya could not hear her mother talking to her when there were other sounds, she would reply, “huh,” then turn to read her mother’s lips. Jaya loved gymnastics but was even having trouble hearing the coach with the loud surrounding in the gym.

Jaya’s mom took her to the doctor to look at her ears. Jaya was so smart and well spoken that she had the doctor’s fooled. Jaya passed hearing screens in the doctor’s office and her mother said, “Please send us to a special doctor that studies just the ears.”

We went to more doctor appointments where Jaya got her ears cleaned out and then to a doctor called an Audiologist. An Audiologist is a doctor that specializes in hearing. When Jaya went to see the audiologist Jaya played games with ear buds in her ears that were checking her hearing while she had fun playing games.

After the game was over, the doctor spoke to Jaya’s mother to explain what she found. Jaya had hearing loss in her left ear. As Jaya and her mother were driving home from the hospital Jaya noticed her mother crying. The clouds were a little different that day. Jaya looked at her mother and then looked out the window at the clouds.

Jaya said to her mother, “Mom, do you see those clouds over there?” As her mother answered, trying to hide the tears from Jaya seeing her mother cry, “yes baby!” “Inez and God are watching over you from above those clouds, so you don’t have to cry mommy!” Inez was Jaya’s grandmother who had gone to heaven. Jaya’s mother wiped her tears and she said, “ I want you to HEAR, I will love you forever!”
